BOAT OWNER'S COMMENTARY.
This 1991 Cabo Marine 226 Cuddycon is a well maintained & upgraded fishing boat.
It was designed for fishing in Baja California and is a perfect Sea of Cortez fishing boat.
The boat is powered by a 2004 Yamaha F-225 four stroke outboard with 630 hrs.
There is a 2004 Yamaha T-8 (high thrust) auxillary motor.
The boat cruises between 20 to 27 knots, and has a top speed of 34 knots.
The average fuel consumption is 2.0 nautical miles per gallon.
With the 120 gallon fuel tank the boat has a range of 200 nautical miles.
The fuel tank is aluminum and was replaced in 2002.
There are 2, 105 amp AGM batteries.
The motor has a new Yamaha Saltwater Series 11 prop with a back-up.
The boat has a dual axle galvanized "Trailrite" trailer.
Axles were replaced & upgraded to a heavier capacity in 1999.
Every year & a half or so, the trailer is serviced to maintain & fix any wear issues.
New brakes are always put on during this service.
Currently the brakes (surge type) are fairly new as are the tires.
There are 2 spare tires.
As the boat has been used extensively in Baja the trailer has been well maintained.
The boat design is similar to a center console, with a small cuddy cabin forward.
The cuddy cabin has 2 berths & a portable toilet.
The console has a tackle center & icebox built into it.
There are rod holders on the console as well as rocket launchers on the T-top.
Outriggers are Taco telescoping type and there is 1 Canon electric downrigger.
There are 2 bait tanks built into the transom.
The deck has 2 large below deck fishboxes, and other storage.
Forward there is a tall stainless steel bow rail with a bow pulpit.
The boat has a rope locker forward with a main anchor & rope as well as a back up anchor & rope.
There is a canvas snap on enclosure that covers 3 sides of the control station for cold or wet weather.
The CABO MARINE has a full boat cover.
The Helm is hydraulic.
Within the past 2 years a new helm pump was installed & the hydraulic lines were replaced from the motor to the helm.
There is a Floscan fuel meter.
The boat has electric trim tabs & an electric Jack Plate for raising & lowering the motor for fine tuning under way.
There is a folding stainless steel swim ladder on the transom.
The electronic package has an Icom VHF radio, a Furuno LCD 16 mile range radar.
The GPS Plotter/Sounder is a 2010 Raymarine C-90W.
This is a 9 inch widescreen with the latest Navionics Gold Card.
The card is for the West Coast & all of Baja California.
This unit has the 3D function as well as a fish finder.
The boat has been professionally maintained and cared for.
This boat has been used for fishing extensively out of the town of Loreto, in Baja California.
The boat is a great boat for offshore fishing of Billfish, Dorado, Tuna & Wahoo.
The boat is currently a dual registered boat and has a current California registration as well as a Mexican Baja California registration.
